Alderwood Park (West)

An approximately seven-acre parcel at the corner of Whitewood Road and Baxter Road is designated for Alderwood Park, a public park that the City will own and maintain, and it will be open to all Murrieta residents Phase 1 will feature two dog parks — one for small dogs and another for large pets; a small tot lot; a gazebo picnic shelter with tables; and parking. Phase 2, which consists of the eastern half of the park, is anticipated to be ready for use sometime in the first quarter of 2018. Phase 2 will offer a large kids’ playground; open turf areas for play or relaxing; a patio and picnic tables; two half-court basketball courts; two pickleball courts; parking; and a 3,000 square-foot community center. The community center will have a common room, kitchen and bathrooms.
