Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children (IVCEC) Playground

Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children serves students throughout all of Imperial County with moderate to severe disabilities. With about 100 students on site, nearly 1/4th have severe mobility issues. The goal of this playground was to create a space where children of all abilities can express themselves freely and fully. Inclusive devices include accessible swing seats, a dish swing, and a wheelchair rocking device to name a few. With poured-in-place and artificial turf safety surfacing throughout, ALL children will be able to experience the sensory fun included in this playground. This playground is part of PLAYCORE’s national demonstration site program for inclusive design. Recreation Brands is honored to be a part of this life-changing work.
